Biography
Professor Maria Teresa Salles Trevisan holds a PhD in Biotechnology at Leiden University (1997), where she used NMR as a tool to analyse metabolic changes in Hop cell suspension cultures after elicitation. In the year of 2002 she carried out Post doctorate at the German Center for Cancer Research (DKFZ) in Heidelberg - Germany. Currently, she is Professor at the Federal University of Ceará. She has experience in the field of Biochemistry, with emphasis on Enzymology, working mainly on the following topics: cell culture, search for inhibitors of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase to develop drug for the treatment of Alzheimer's and new insecticides, search for angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors; antioxidants; antiglycation in medicinal plants, coffee, tropical fruits and their residues.
